Perfect Imperfection

Roses hips and other ripe seed heads contribute to the subtle beauty of the winter garden. Only upon close inspection does one find many of the treasures of our winter gardens - leaf, bark, berry and branch are rich with color & texture. Take a moment and look closely, observe and you will see.

The pink tones of the phormium's strap leaves intermingle with the foliage of Lobelia laxiflora (Cardinal Flower). This photo was taken today in my garden.
